This Thursday, September 12, Michel Drucker celebrates his 82nd birthday. We don’t need to introduce him anymore, as he seems to have always been on our screens. When he’s not on his red sofa, and he can relax on vacation, he’s at his 293 square meter house located in a village in the south of France where the eternal entertainer can recharge his batteries. A sublime house from Eygalières which had been threatened with destruction. As we learned in The FigaroThe property had been the subject of a legal saga for almost six years, before Michel Drucker finally won his case, seeing his building permit validated.

Being called Michel Drucker does not exclude possible risks of neighborhood conflicts. Proof of this is that the 82-year-old presenter today was at the heart of a real legal war concerning a building permit. In 2007, the television presenter had filed an application for a 293 m² house with a swimming pool in Eygalières, where he already owns a home. A permit that was issued to him in 2008 before an association, the Alpilles Defense League, had requested its cancellation before the administrative court, basing its application mainly on the fact that the future house was located less than 500 meters from a listed Romanesque chapel.

At the heart of a case of “fraud

According to his defense, the permit had been obtained without prior consultation with the architect of the Bâtiments de France by the mayor of Eygalières, and thus by “fraud“. A complaint for “faux” et “use of forgery” had even been filed, then finally dismissed. After six years of legal proceedings, Michel Drucker won his case, and saw his building permit validated by the Council of State for his home in Bouches-du-Rhône.

With his wife Dany Saval, the happy owner of this prestigious property, since the 1970s, can therefore enjoy it as he wishes. In the Alpilles massif, he must nevertheless share the spotlight with other celebrities since they seem to be attracted to this quiet and discreet corner. Indeed, a stone’s throw from Mont Ventoux, we discover the presence of other famous names, Alain Prost, Charlotte de Turckheim – who got married there –, Omar Sy, Bruno Gaccio and Hugh Grant.
