The first Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix was held in 1950 and, in 74 editions, the race has only been unfaithful to Monza once, going, in 1980, to Imola. In seven decades of World Championship, the basis of the Monza circuit has not changed much, except of course with the addition and modification of chicanes, mainly for safety reasons. The circuit configuration with an oval, a certain idea of ​​madness, was used in the mid-1950s and early 1960s.

5.793 km long and made up of 11 bends, the Monza track has had its current configuration since 2000, when the first chicane was rebuilt. It is a speed circuit par excellence, with four long full-throttle sections, two slow chicanes that encourage overtaking and more technical sectors (the Lesmo, Ascari and the Parabolic, now called Curva Alboreto). In the race, 53 laps must be completed, for a total distance of 306.720 km.

The first two days of the Lombard race are expected to be rather sunny, even if the sky will be overcast on Saturday afternoon, with maximum temperatures around 32°C. On the other hand, Sunday is currently forecast to be potentially rainy in the afternoon, at the time of the race, with a measurement dropping back to around 26°C.
