TESTIMONIALS – Tickets for Liam and Noel Gallagher’s first tour, which has just been reconciled, go on sale this Saturday. Enough to delight their fans after fifteen years of animosity and insults exchanged between the two brothers via the media.
Gabin* still remembers the Rock en Seine concert in 2009 during which Oasis exploded in mid-flight. At the time, the teacher, a fan of the group since adolescence, was 28 years old. “We are waiting in front of the stage but the concert does not start. Everyone wonders what is happening.”recounts the 43-year-old Parisian. Tensions had emerged between the Gallagher brothers who frequently attacked each other through English tabloids… to the point of no return.
“After 20 minutes, one of the organizers comes on stage and announces: ‘Liam and Noel have had a fight. The band no longer exists'”continues the one who, at the time, does not realize, before they are told that Madness is playing instead of Oasis. In the crowd, the festival-goers accustomed to Liam and Noel’s antics get angry and whistle. “I was so disgusted that I didn’t stay”Gabin breathes.
Looking back, this band fan is amused by this episode that went down in history. Especially since this breakup is now a thing of the past. The Gallagher brothers announced on August 27 the reformation of Oasis and their big return to the stage during a 14-date tour, the first of which will be held in Cardiff in July 2025, followed by five concerts in Manchester – where Oasis was born in 1991, then in London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
