Deadlock Beginner’s Guide: How to Play – Deadlock Guide

Some heroes, like Hazeare good at moving around the map quickly and catching solo enemies off guard. Some, like Dynamo and Sevenhave very impactful ultimate abilities that should be used in larger teamfights with multiple allies and enemies involved. If you’re playing one of these heroes and have your ultimate available, look for opportunities to use it with your team.

It’s important to keep an eye on your mini map in the bottom left corner to see where your teammates are, the status of your lanes, and which enemies are visible! The more enemy heroes missing from the map, the more dangerous it is for you to venture into enemy territory, or to reveal your own location, especially if you’re alone.

Late-Game

The late game begins when one team has defeated the first two buildings in a lane and is able to start attacking the buildings in their opponents’ base.

There are two ‘shrines’ (one on each side of the base) which must be destroyed before the Patron is vulnerable to attack. These shrines can’t attack back, but the Patron will attack any enemy units nearby.

Once the shrines are destroyed, the Patron can be damaged. However, the Patron’s attacks will also deal 30% increased damage while it’s vulnerable.

After its health bar is depleted, the Patron will transform into a Weakened form, and sink into the pit in front of the spawn, unable to attack back (although it will periodically emit a pulse that hits up to 2 enemy heroes for 75 damage per second.)

  • In its Weakened state, damage can only be dealt to the Patron from inside the pit.

It’s important to note that respawn timers are dynamic, based on a hero’s net worth (total Souls earned).
