Nations League: The Netherlands list to face Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany!

Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has revealed the 23-man squad for the upcoming international break. The Oranje are set to face Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany in the Nations League Rounds 1 and 2, on September 7 and 10 at the Philips Stadion.

The Dutch selection is notable for the expected return of Jurriën and Quinten Timber, back after a period of unavailability due to injuries. Another notable reintegration is that of Jorrel Hato, who had not been called up since the end of 2023.

These returns will undoubtedly bring new dynamics to a team in search of solid performances in a competition which remains a crucial issue for the nation.

Major absences!

On the other hand, the absence of Justin Bijlow attracts attention. The goalkeeper, a regular starter, gives way to Nick Olij. This decision, surprising for some, shows Ronald Koeman’s desire to test new options in a key position. Stefan de Vrij and Mats Wieffer, both injured, will also be missing, somewhat weakening the defensive structure and the midfield of the Oranjes.

Another name notably absent is Teun Koopmeiners. The midfielder, who caused a stir by trying to force a transfer by skipping training, was not retained, illustrating Koeman’s firmness on inappropriate behaviour.

Additionally, young prospects Jan-Paul van Hecke and Crycensio Summerville are not included in this selection, as are Justin Kluivert, Jordan Teze, Kenneth Taylor, and Noa Lang.

Here is the complete list of players called up:

Guards: Flekkken, Olij, Verbruggen,

Defenders: Aké, Brobbey, Van Dijk, Dumfries, Frimpong, Geertruida, Hato, De Ligt, Q. Timber, Van de Ven,

Environmentx: Gakpo, Gravenberch, Malen, Reijnders, Schouten, Simons, Veerman, J. Ttimber,

Attacks: Weghorst, Zirkzee.
