Briac Glaud is already preparing to go on another trip to Rwanda on Monday, September 9, 2024, accompanied by his partner, a friend and his faithful sidekick, Fabrice, whom he met during his first participation in the show. Beijing ExpressIt is in Africa that they will watch – or at least try to watch – the new season of “Pékin Express” broadcast from September 14, 2024. A special edition since it marks the return of several iconic duos from the program, including theirs.
Eager for adventure and competitive, Briac, who recently moved to Richelieu (Indre-et-Loire), did not hesitate for a second to set off on this adventure with Fabrice. He had prepared for it for weeks, climbing mountains, weighed down with 15 kg backpacks. “To think that we have made an impression on the production and the public is gratifying.”the young man believes.
A broken tooth on the first day of filming
This time, the duo set off to discover India, a country unknown to Briac, who dreamed of going there. But there was no question of doing tourism there. Their objective was clear: ” To have [leur] revenge on season 12 » (during which they were eliminated in the seventh stage). “We know we’re going to win, otherwise we might as well stay at home.”
They will face competitors at heart. Among them, Christophe and Claire, winners of season 14. “We didn’t want them to win a second time. Beijing Express »Briac confides frankly. “No gift” no more with Jean-Claude, who returned to the adventure with his grandson, Axel, even if Briac assures us: “We love Grandpa JC. Everyone took great care of our grandpa.”
“Let’s rush in”
As the “all stars” edition requires, the level of play promises to be higher. “The race is much more challenging because the pairs have experience of the game. We are at a very high level.” And even if Briac Glaud is on his third Beijing Express (1), he remains true to himself with his qualities… and his faults. “Our only weakness is that we’re a little bit hot-headed. We rush in. That’s perhaps what could cause us problems in this edition.”
While he could have anticipated many things, what happened to him on the first day of the adventure could never have been written in advance. In a video shared by the channel, we see the young man, blindfolded, breaking a tooth by running into metal street furniture on the first day of filming near the Taj Mahal. “It’s just bodywork”temporizes, a posteriori, Briac Glaud.
From his adventure in India, Briac Glaud remembers above all: “cultural richness, smiling and kind people” but also the pollution that is eating away at the country. It is with these memories firmly anchored in his head that the young adventurer will participate in the Christmas markets of Chinon and the surrounding area to sell the candles made by hand with his partner in Richelieu. A stopover before leaving, most certainly, for other distant lands (2).
