The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has rejected the demand of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ukraine for additional testing of Russian and Belarusian participants in the Games in Paris. This was reported by the IPC press service.

“The IPC will not conduct additional checks on Russian and Belarusian participants in the Paris Games,” the TASS press service said in a statement. It added that the checks on Russian and Belarusian athletes were conducted by an independent service provider, and their compliance was confirmed by an external law firm. 88 Russian athletes have received accreditations and visas to participate in the Games, and the issue of two athletes is still being resolved.

The Paris Paralympics will be held from August 28 to September 8. Russian Paralympians will be able to compete only in neutral status and without their medals being counted in the overall standings. On August 27, the head of the Ukrainian NPC Valeriy Sushkevich demanded a re-check of the Russians for neutral status.
