For its 10th edition in Marseille, is the Delta Festival having bad luck? After the cancellation of SCH’s visit following the murder of its driver, bad weather forced the organizers to cancel the opening night on September 4.
This Thursday, it’s with two hours latestage reassemblies oblige, that the festival announced to open its doors. The artist PLK has also cancelled its show for technical reasons. For some spectators, this is too much and they are expressing it on social networks.
Late opening, PLK cancellation…
The Delta is not celebrating. In addition to opening its doors late, the festival has revised its plans and has urgently reassembled a new large stage. The PLK facilities are not “not adaptable” to the latter, it will therefore not be able to occur.
“Can we hope for any compensation? It’s a lot,” complains a festival-goer on Instagram. She’s not the only one fuming and the negative comments are pouring in.
So we pay 125 euros for a VIP PASS and don’t get a refund even though the entry time is pushed back and the most anticipated artist doesn’t perform?
” Thumbtack the balls… coming from Nantes for SCH and PLK and not seeing them,” one despairs. “Change your equipment, we’ve been waiting for 15 hours,” grumbles the other. “Plk another rapper who’s annoying (sic, Editor’s note), always the same… boycott the…You’re not going to tell me the guy with a microphone and a speaker can sing,” says one comment.
“Strength to the logistics team”
“With what happened last year I don’t know how you thought that you did not anticipate this kind of event by preparing so that the stages can face this kind of setback,” another Internet user says, referring to the evening canceled in 2023, again due to bad weather. Before slipping in a little kind word: “Strength to the logistics team who must have suffered.”
The organization wants to be reassuring and affirms that all the other artists planned until the end of the festival will be present.
