Seventh day of events on Wednesday at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games! After the track, the French para-cyclists will discover the road while Fabien Lamirault competes in his semi-final in para-table tennis. Find today’s program.

The event not to be missed

All day long, 19 time trial events are on the programme to mark the start of para-cycling on the road after the track which largely smiled on the French delegation. In Clichy-sous-Bois, Heïdi Gaugain, already a medallist at these Games, hopes to climb onto a second podium. Deprived of a medal in the individual pursuit and team sprint, Kévin Le Cunff will want to win a second Paralympic title after the gold in the road race in Tokyo, just like Florian Jouanny.

French to follow

After his narrow victory despite the score (three sets to zero) in the quarter-final against the Korean Park yesterday, Fabien Lamirault is assured of leaving Paris with a medal. But the para-table tennis player, aligned in the MS2 category, will want to beat the Czech Jiri Suchanek to play in the final the following day. He hopes that the eighth Paralympic medal of his career will allow him to win a third consecutive singles title.

And also…

  • Kylian Portal back in the pools. Bronze medalist behind his brother Alex in the 400m freestyle (S13 category), the Frenchman will return to Paris La Défense Arena at 9:30 a.m. to compete in his heat of the 100m freestyle (S12 category). Already aligned in these Paralympic Games, Léane Morceau and Assya Maurin Espiau will swim again, respectively in the 100m freestyle (S12) and in the 200m medley (SM14).
  • De La Forest for a third podium. And why not? Already winner of two medals, silver and gold, the para-sports shooter Tanguy de La Forest is participating today in his third event since the beginning of these Games, the 50 m prone shooting. See you at 12:30 p.m. for the qualifications with a potential final at 3 p.m.
  • Adolphe and Fairbank seek revenge. After a bitter silver medal in the 400m, Timothée Adolphe and his guide Charles Renard will want to make up for it in the 100m (T11 category). His heat is scheduled for 10:12, before, we hope, a semi-final at 20:58 and a final the following evening. For his part and over the same distance, Pierre Fairbank will be keen to do better than in the 400m, where he finished sixth in his T53 final. Rendezvous at 11:32 for his heat. Final scheduled for 19:14.

The life of the Games

Whether they were the target of a booby-trapped drone in Iraq or the victim of a mine explosion in Donbass, several war-wounded people are taking part in the Paralympic Games. We met Frenchman Cyrille Chahboune, Australian Curtis McGrath and Ukrainian Yevhenii Korinets, all three of whom are in Paris after having suffered an accident at the front.
