Our prediction : Karolina Muchova and Beatriz Haddad-Maia (1.40)

Karolina Muchova has never lost a match against Beatriz Hadda-Maia and has
lost only one set in three matches: 2-0 in Cagnes in 2016, 2-0 in
Ostrava in 2022 and 2-1 in Cincinnati last year. Even though the Brazilian
(21st) reached the Cleveland final before arriving in New York and if she
is ranked higher than the Czech (52nd), it seems logical to me that the latter
is the favorite. She is indeed more experienced in Grand Slams
(finalist at Roland-Garros and ½ finalist at the US Open in 2023 after two ¼
Wimbledon finals (2019 and 2021). Moreover, Muchova is better than
her ranking but she did not play for eight months, between September
2023 and June 2024. In these conditions, betting on a success for the Czech
is not incongruous.
