Following the draw for the new Champions League format, UEFA has made its decision on the price of tickets for away fans.
Good news for fans! If the new format of the C1 still troubles some fans, they can be satisfied with the recent announcement from UEFA. Indeed, the European football body has declared itself in favor of a reduction in the cap on the price of tickets for traveling fans. While this cap was €70 last season, it will be €60 for the 2024-2025 edition and will be decreasing since it will drop to €50 for the 2025-2026 campaign. In other words, fans who go to see their favourite club away will pay a maximum of €60 from this year. This news comes after the grumbling of some supporters’ clubs, particularly in Germany. In consultation with the European Club Association and the Football Supporters Europe organisation, UEFA has therefore decided in favour of the public.
Europa League and Conference League also affected
With more European fixtures to come this season with the group stage extending into January, the choice of matches for fans will be crucial. But UEFA’s announcement is not just about the Champions League. Indeed, Visitors’ tickets will be limited to €40 this season in the Europa League. For the 2025-2026 edition, the price will drop to €35. During the last two editions, it was necessary to pay a maximum of €45 to attend an away match. The Conference League also benefits from this reduction. The price will be €20 this season and next year.. In the Conference League the ceiling had already been reduced with a price of €25. Aleksander Ceferin, head of the European body, welcomed this policy. “By introducing more supporter-friendly policies, we are continuing our mission, which is to ensuring that football remains an inclusive sport, in which fans who travel across Europe to follow their team are valued and recognised.” he explained.
