“Lola opens her mouth too much”: discomfort and spats in “Koh-Lanta, the cursed tribe”
“Lola
      opens
      her
      mouth
      too
      much”:
      discomfort
      and
      spats
      in
      “Koh-Lanta,
      the
      cursed
      tribe”

Two ailments in one episode. After a week of adventure, the bodies of the adventurers of “Koh-Lanta” are already in the red. Charlotte thus collapses at the end of an immunity test during which she gave her all. Taken care of by the doctors of the game, she fortunately gets back on her feet quickly.

Same punishment for Lola. Starving like the rest of her yellow tribe, the young woman found herself with flat batteries from the beginning of this third episode. So much so that her comrades preferred to call the doctor. More fear than harm there too. A little sugar and it starts again for the resident of Martinique.

But that’s not enough to dispel the antipathy she generates among many of her unfortunate comrades. Among them, Michel is one of the most angry. “She opens her mouth too much,” says Robinson, when Fabrice, the manager of the equestrian center, can no longer stand the sight of her. To the point of being ready not to eat for four days if that would ensure that she goes away.

“This is the first time that adventurers have stopped paddling”

But it’s not time to settle scores. Today’s immunity challenge is the legendary raft race. While Frédéric’s Sabitang manage to complete their construction without too much hassle, things are more tense for Ugo’s Pitogo. Today’s debate: should the floats be placed inside or outside in this clockwise race?

In disagreement, the red competitors split the difference by making a canoe and a raft, each adopting the two options. Enough to make Alexandre angry, a supporter of the only internal float. On edge throughout this episode, the 33-year-old osteopath, tired, clings to his captain Ugo, who does not give up.

During the long-awaited confrontation, his team’s canoe (with the inner float) quickly took over the yellow team’s. But during the second round in the raft, the red crew led by Gustin and Alexandre preferred to give up the fight. Exhausted, they thus offered the equalizer to the yellow team. “This is the first time in the history of Koh-Lanta “Let adventurers stop paddling,” Denis Brogniart complains from the bank.

On the boat, Gustin justifies this decision by his desire to save himself for the third decisive round… Which he ultimately does not contest. Fortunately for the Swiss, the crew led by its valiant captain, Ugo, wins once again. The prize is fruit and rice, which could not be more welcome for his weakened troop.

A one-sided duel

For Frédéric’s yellows, it’s all grimace soup. During the decisive round, their captain proved to be a poor helmsman, taking turns too wide to the point of running aground on a rock. The Sabitang must above all designate the one who will face in a duel the ghost from the island of the cursed tribe. In this case, a ghost. After an electric quest with Nathanaël, it was in fact Mélissa who found the famous white anito, the small figurine from Filipino culture serving as a passport to try to join the main game.

After a quick vote, the yellows choose Ilyesse, who had barely returned from this island of the banished, to face Mélissa. Lola had a close call when she received several votes against her. “I didn’t think they wanted to get me out of the camp,” muses the one who doesn’t seem to be aware of the irritation she provokes among several of her teammates.

At the end of a one-sided duel, Ilyesse triumphs over his opponent, condemning Mélissa to return from whence she came. Dejected, the adventurer with a strong character has the consolation of returning to her cursed tribe with a little rice and a box of matches.

Reds lose immunity

Back on the yellow camp with a second immunity necklace, the young Ilyesse does not hide his “bitterness”. “A lot of smiles, I was welcomed with open arms. I’m afraid that all this is just hypocrisy”, says the engineering student who cannot digest his designation for the duel. And he also has Lola in his sights. “She’s someone who talks a lot and in the end, there’s nothing”, he tackles in front of a Michel who is already convinced.

The summons to the immunity test doesn’t leave them time to talk any further. A terrible obstacle course to overcome with a fifty-kilo platform awaits them, followed by a puzzle to complete before their opponents. Touching each other throughout the race, Frédéric among the yellows takes things in hand at the last stage, replacing Lola in assembling the pieces of the puzzle.

A wise decision since his tribe finally wins over the reds. In addition to the disappointment of the defeat, the latter must absorb the announcement by Denis Brogniart of a council organized in the wake of the event. Without prior consultation, it is finally Marie, already in the hot seat during the previous vote, who is pushed towards the exit. Alexandre, withdrawn throughout the episode, did not come far from elimination. The osteopath will have to quickly pull himself together if he wants to hope to survive the rest of the adventure.
