Remember. It’s August 8, 2024 and Tara Davis-Woodhall wins the long jump final and brings another gold medal to the United States. It’s absolute euphoria.

Immediately after her jump, she runs into the arms of her partner, the para-athlete Hunter Woodwalloverjoyed in the stands of the Stade de France. Their embrace had moved the entire planet. The American’s number one fan and unfailing supporter for seven years, we see the sprinter encouraging his sweetheart with intensity and emotion, no longer able to sit still. This sequence had also gone around the world, drawing the portrait of a duo of ultra-complicit sportsmen. They had in turn slipped a dust of romance and love on the competition, after the numerous marriage proposals that occurred during the Olympic fortnight.

This Monday, September 2, the roles were reversed. Tara Davis-Woodhall was in the stands at the Stade de France, Hunter Woodwall on the track for the final of the men’s 100m T64. If the para-athlete unfortunately did not win gold, finishing in 6th position, he was able to count on the support of his partner, wearing a white t-shirt with his name on it.

But the competition is not done with emotions. The para-athlete will be lined up on the starting line for the 400m this Friday, September 6th in the early evening. The opportunity to witness again, we hope, a new great demonstration of love.

A champion couple, envied by the whole world

On social media, their complicity has caused a reaction. Their Tiktok and Youtube accounts have been flooded with positive comments, repeatedly calling them « couple goal »The champions also shared the moments before the American’s gold medal in Paris.

And their story has all the makings of a romantic movie. In 2017, the couple met in high school at a national track and field competition. It was love at first sight. Tara noticed him immediately, and quickly made the first move. He, secretly, hoped to “accidentally bump into” the young woman. “I noticed him while we were training and I thought, ‘Wow, this guy is really cute.’ When he finished his run, I joined him on the track and I said, ‘I don’t know why, but I have to hug you,’” the Olympian confided in an interview with CNN.
