Mind-blowing heights

A below-the-knee amputee, Dominican Wagner Astacio thus performed his run-up on one leg to clear a bar at 1.81m on his second attempt at the ventral roll. He finally finished 5th in the final after clearing a bar at 1.85m, his best performance of the season.

With an atrophied leg, Cameroonian Yves-Noé Batifi Loumou also impressed by breaking the African record (1.77m) in a competition won by American Ezra Frech (1.94m) ahead of Indians Sharad Kumar (1.88m) and Mariyappan Thangavelu (1.85m).
