Yann Barthès’ show “Quotidien” sets a record audience for the start of the 2024 school year.

TELEVISION – The competition is back in full swing between the flagship programs of the TF1 and Canal+ groups. And despite Cyril Hanouna’s parodies to denounce Arcom’s decision not to renew C8’s TNT frequency in 2025, TPMP failed to be the leader of the talk show season, this Monday, September 2. It is the competing talk show, Daily, presented by Yann Barthès, which was acclaimed by viewers.

For its ninth season on TMC, Daily achieved its best-ever start, the channel said in a statement. At the height of the evening, Yann Barthès’ program brought together more than 2 million French people in front of their televisions. The show even claimed an 18% audience share among 25-49 year-olds. Without breakdowns, the audience share of Daily is 1.3 million viewers, confirm The Parisian et Puremediaswhich represents a 6.9% market share.

The show beats its competitor by a hair’s breadth TPMP. The controversial show attracted an average of 1.24 million viewers overall (6.3% market share), with a peak of 1.79 million (8.5%). A first defeat for Cyril Hanouna, who had given his audience a date « fanzouzes » in a back-to-school clip linking references to the opening ceremony of the Games.

On the public service side, France Télévisions welcomes the “Best start in audience” of It’s up to you this Monday, with a peak of 1.02 million viewers.

Even before the ratings battle, hostilities had begun with the back-to-school announcements. If It’s up to you chose neutrality by riding the wave of the Olympic Games with a humorous clip, Daily opted for second degree.

On social media, the show posted posters on August 26 mocking the criticisms made by the speakers of the Canal+ group, such as ” Yann Barthès is afraid of live broadcasts ” A few hours later, TPMP replied with the same posters ” corrected, darka style ».
