“If one day I had to go back to Europe and I had the choice to go where I wanted, I think I would go to Olympiakos. It’s still a great club.” This is what he had written Evan Fournier In May 2022, at the time of the Final Four, and two years later, the Olympic vice-champion’s wish will come true.

While the horizon seems blocked in the NBA, the Frenchman will return to Europe, and even to the Euroleague, since Eurohoops announces that he has given his agreement for two seasons, and that there are just some details to settle at the paperwork level. Our colleagues mention a clause for a 3rd season. On the Equipe side, we are talking about a annual salary of two million eurosAt 31, it is therefore not certain that we will ever see Fournier again in the NBA, and he leaves the big league with an average of 13.6 points, and no less than 146 million dollars amassed in his career.

An XXL workforce

Last week, we learned that the Frenchman had contacts, even offers, from Italian, Spanish and French clubs, and so he is leaving for Greece. Olympiakos is one of the big guns in European basketball, and he reunited with Sasha Vezenkov this summer.

At the Piraeus club, the squad is already bursting at the seams with Vildoza, Fall, Papanikolaou, Williams-Goss, Milutinov and of course Vezenkov… The arrival of Fournier will make one player unhappy: Filip Petrusev, who should be loaned out again.
