Heidi Gaugain in pursuit of gold

3:22 p.m. – Para cycling track individual pursuit 3000 m women C5

At just 19 years old, Heïdi Gaugain will be taking part in her first Games. And already, the young Mayenne native, born with agenesis of the left arm, is establishing herself as the favourite for the Paralympic title in the pursuit to be held this Sunday, for which she holds the last two world titles (2023 and 2024). But the young cyclist is also writing her career among the able-bodied. Introduced by her father, president of the Vélo Saint-Georges Aventure club, she won two junior world titles in 2022 (points race and team pursuit) and dreams of one day competing in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For now, she should be competing for her first gold medal this Sunday from 3:22 p.m. at the Vélodrome National.
