The prefect of Alpes-Maritimes has decided to close nurseries, schools, middle schools and high schools throughout the department for the entire day on Tuesday.
More heavy rain in the morning this Tuesday, October 8, particularly in the south-east of France. There will still be some nice clearings in the South-West and the eastern Pyrenees. Eleven departments are placed on orange alert in the east of France for rain-floods, notably Lozère, Ardèche, Gard, Isère, Ain, Rhône, Loire, Jura, Saône-et -Loire, Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-Maritimes, depending on Weather France .

A rainy morning
Heavy rains continue from the center-east to the south-east where strong thunderstorms also break out. Improvement is not expected before midday. Behind, there are still many clouds with more frequent showers in the northwest. There will be several clearings between Normandy and the Pyrenees. Temperatures will be rather mild between 14°C in Paris and Strasbourg, 18°C in Montpelier and 21°C in Corsica.
Many showers expected in the afternoon
The rains and storms will evacuate beyond our borders. You will find very beautiful clearings at the back, from the Pyrenees to Hauts-de-France. In Brittany and Pays de la Loire, showers are increasing under strong winds. Temperatures remain very pleasant between 17°C in Cherbourg and 22°C in Toulouse.
In the evening, a rather clear sky
Sustained rain is expected in the center-west, between Vendée and Touraine, while showers are more likely in Brittany. The sky remains clear from Hauts-de-France to the Mediterranean.
Forecast for the next few days
The arrival of Storm Kirk, which could exceed 120 km/h on the coast and inland, this Wednesday with violent winds expected from Pays-de-la-Loire to the Grand Est and very heavy rains to the north of the Loire. The weather will calm down at the end of the week with the return of drier but also significantly cooler weather.
