Alongside the prefectural decree for OL – Besiktas, the Rhône prefecture had drawn up a first one for Sunday’s meeting against Nantes. If the arrival of Nantes supporters is not prohibited, there will only be 500 in the visitors’ parking lot.

The 2024 Olympic Games were a success and no major spillovers were noted. We could then have said that Ligue 1 was going to capitalize on this good experience in terms of security to limit restrictions on the movement of supporters. A wasted effort since prefectural decrees have multiplied since the start of the season. Between ban, restriction and supervision, not a weekend goes by without a French match being the subject of one of these orders. This will again be the case for the 7th day and in particular at Parc OL. A few hours before banning the arrival of supporters of Besiktasthe Rhône prefecture had limited that of supporters of NantesSunday in Décines.

Highlighting the terrorist threat weighing on and therefore police officers mobilized in greater numbers, the attack on the busOL in or the use of smoke bombs by the Brigade at the end of last season, prefect Fabienne Bucciochose to support the people of Nantes. When the visitor parking lot can accommodate up to 1,500 opposing supporters, only 500 will be able to take their place in the OL Park on Sunday. All this while having followed a route supervised by the police and a ban on anyone claiming to be a fan of the Canaries from approaching the colors yellow and green in the city center and around the stadium. A weekend like any other in Ligue 1 unfortunately.
