Kobbie Mainoo suffers injury blow in horrid first-half vs Tottenham

If you thought the first half against Tottenham was bad, based on the performance and the fact we’re trailing 1-0, an injury to Kobbie Mainoo made matters worse for Manchester United before the interval.

The England international was substituted after Bruno Fernandes’ straight red card and Mason Mount replaced him.

The game already had vibes of Liverpool’s 5-0 win over United, or the 5-2, with Tottenham totally dominant. The visiting side should be out of sight and they go into the second half with one more player on the pitch.

Erik ten Hag made more changes at the break. Casemiro came on to replace Joshua Zirkee, who was pretty underwhelming in the first half.

United will battle on in the second half without Mainoo.

Mount has started the second half on the right hand side of United’s attack, while Casemiro will help Manuel Ugarte provide defensive cover in front of the back four.
