Robert Zemeckis has reunited with his stars from “Forrest Gump” — Tom Hanks and Robin Wright — for a daring new film “Here.” Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Richard McGuireall of the action takes place in a single location and is captured by a fixed mounted camera. Zemeckis and Eric Roth, the Oscar-winning writer of “Forrest Gump,” handled the scripting. And cinematographer Don Burgesswho reaped an Oscar bid for “Forrest Gump,” was behind the lens.

In the trailer for “Here,” we see this location in various time periods, from far in the past when dinosaurs ruled well into the future. But the bulk of the film is focused on the lives of a couple, Richard and Margaret, played by Hanks and Wright. Zemeckis makes use of ground-breaking technology to digitally de-age the actors. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the director praised the performances of his stars: “Both Tom and Robin understood instantly that, ‘Okay, we have to go back and channel what we were like 50 years ago or 40 years ago, and we have to bring that energy, that kind of posture, and even raise our voices higher. ‘”

While Hanks won his second Best Actor Oscar for “Forrest Gump,” it is surprising that Wright has never been nominated. She did contend at the Emmys for her starring role on all six seasons of the hit drama “House of Cards” and won at the Globes for the first season back in 2013.

Sony Pictures will world premiere “Here” at the AFI Fest on Oct. 25 before releasing it nationwide on Nov. 1. Deadline reports that the production company, Miramax, has sold the film in a slew of territories with Amazon MGM releasing it in the UK and Oceania.
