Fortune de France on France 2: you have probably already seen Nicolas Duvauchelle’s horse this year – News Series on TV

In “Fortune de ”, the new historical saga on France 2, Nicolas Duvauchelle slips into the shoes of a lord of the manor. A first for the actor who is nevertheless passionate about history.

Nicolas Duvauchelle is currently starring in Fortune de France, a historical family saga in which he plays Jean de Siorac, a lord of the manor caught in the crossfire of the wars of religion. A fervent Protestant, he must hide his faith from everyone, with the help of his wife, a Catholic, whom he loves deeply.

Nicolas Duvauchelle in a costume series

Although Nicolas Duvauchelle has a long career behind him, whether in cinema or on television, this is the first time he has appeared in a historical fiction. However, the actor is passionate about history.

I have read a lot about the period of the religious wars” revealed the actor during a press briefing. “What I like about the story is that it’s a bit like Game of Thrones in real life. I really like the historical truth. With Fortune de France, there’s something that spoke to me, because we’re in a society that’s undergoing major changes. There’s a whole questioning around religion. It’s a very interesting period..”

Nicolas Duvauchelle, however, confided during this same press briefing that roles in historical fiction are very rare for him, particularly because of his tattoos. But it seems that Christopher Thompson, the creator of Fortune de France, was not scared by this physical specificity.

Did Nicolas Duvauchelle do his own stunts?

In an interview given to our colleagues at Leisure TVNicolas Duvauchelle spoke about his preparation for the role of Jean de Siorac. And even if the actor is passionate about horse riding, he still had to take a few lessons.

I had to take a few riding lessons to get reacquainted with horses, so that everyone was at the same level.“, he explained. It was a real pleasure to be able to edit so much in a series, especially in the sublime settings of the Dordogne – the land of a thousand castles – far from civilization to avoid electricity pylons and other contemporary street furniture..”

And if the horse he rode was a beginner, “so a little fearful”, he still managed to have a great career since he was then taken on to play in Monte Cristo with Pierre Niney and Zorro with Jean Dujardin.I am very proud to have offered him his first filming experience!

Watch two new episodes of Fortune de France this Monday, September 23 from 9:10 p.m. on France 2.
