The Kansas City Chiefs offense struggled in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw his fourth interception of the still-young 2024 regular season, and Kansas City’s running game couldn’t quite find its groove without Isiah Pacheco in the backfield.
After Mahomes’ turnover on the Chiefs’ first drive, the reigning Super Bowl MVP marched Kansas City’s offense down the field when he got the ball back.
With just under nine minutes remaining in the second quarter, Mahomes was able to find second-year wide receiver Rashee Rice for a touchdown to pull the Chiefs within one point of the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Rice is quickly becoming Mahomes’ favorite weapon, and for good reason. The second-year wideout has developed into one of the most reliable playmakers on the Chiefs.
