On the bar window Le Rastignachas Artannes-sur-Indrea badminton player, racket in hand, rushes to catch a shuttlecock. An almost life-size effigy of Lucas Mazurengaged in para-badminton at Paris 2024 Paralympic Gamesand whose parents live in the village. The painting was done by a local artist, and pays tribute to the para-athlete, gold and silver medalist at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2021.

The bar manager, Xavier Barbet wanted this painting “to support and promote Lucas Mazur“Installed a few weeks before the start of the Paralympic Games, the painting immediately aroused the curiosity of customers.”Customers ask us ‘Who is this person? Who is Lucas Mazur?’ and we provide them with information.,” explains Xavier Barbet, “It’s nice to say who it is, it’s helping him a little.”
Today, Lucas Mazur is well known in the village, no doubt partly thanks to his portrait on the bar window. In any case, Xavier Bardet now meets his fans: “This morning, I had four or five customers who wanted to watch his match: that’s already not bad!” rejoices the manager. Unfortunately, the para-athlete’s first matches are not broadcast on free television channels, but that is not enough to discourage Xavier Barbet from following the young badminton player’s performances.
