COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The rain moved out of the region early today, but the clouds held on strong especially for areas south of Columbus. This evening and tonight expect mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with a light passing shower possible for some, but overall, a majority of places stay nice and dry. Out the door Sunday morning temperatures start in the low- to mid-60s, before reaching into the low-80s in the afternoon. Sunday expects partly cloudy to partly sunny skies with a stray shower possible. Overall, the low-end rain coverage sticks around into the early part of the work week, before moisture makes a return by the middle to latter half of the work week. This increased moisture will lead to a chance of showers Thursday and Friday, and thanks to the clouds temperatures will once again be in the upper-70s to low-80s both days. As for those temperatures, it will feel pretty pleasant out the door on Monday and Tuesday morning thanks to drier air moving and temperatures in the mid-60s; afternoon temperatures Monday and Tuesday look to sit below average in the mid-80s. Glimpsing ahead to next weekend temperatures look to sit in the mid-80s with isolated showers possible, but we will continue to watch the rain coverage over the coming days.
