The search continues this Saturday, September 7. The death toll from the crash of a microlight that occurred the previous evening near the town of Frestoy-Vaux, not far from Montdidier (Oise) has risen. The authorities are now deploring the death of two men.

Just like on the evening of the accident, the emergency services deployed a new major operation all day long. The goal: to find the body of the second victim. “For the moment, she is still missing,” confirms Patrice Fontaine, mayor of the village concerned.

An instructor and his student

Among these resources, the firefighters once again mobilized the dog team. A helicopter also flew over the area in the morning.

According to our information, the ULM in question took off from Margny-lès-Compiègne aerodrome. On board, two seats occupied by two men aged around forty. An instructor and his student.

The aircraft took off and landed in Montdidier. For reasons that remain to be determined, the aircraft crashed in a cornfield in Frestoy-Vaux, on the return flight. The body found in the hours following the crash is believed to be that of the student.

The Beauvais public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation.
