The day started on the slopes of Pragelato Plan with the Gold medal events in cross-country skiing (20 km mass start). Among the men, it was the Finn Markus Kasanen who came away victorious. For women, the Gold medal was awarded to Estonian Keidy Kaasiku.
This last day was also marked by the Gold medals for men and women in Curling. In the men's category, Norway won Gold against the United States (8 to 4). In the women's category, Japan defeated the Republic of Korea (7 to 5).
Finally, last events of the day: the Gold medals in short track speed skating (1,000 meters and 5,000 relay for men, and 1,000 meters and 3,000 meter relay for women). It was the Korean Gili Kim who won Gold in 1,000 meters. For the event, women's 3,000 meters relay, the winning team is the Republic of Korea.
Among the men, the victories were as follows: the Korean Taesung Kim (1,000m) and China (5,000 meters relay).
-At the end of these events, the medal rankings were a little shaken up. France retained its first place with 40 medals (18 Gold, 8 Silver and 14 Bronze). It is followed by Germany and its 23 medals (6 Gold, 9 Silver, 8 Bronze). Upset in third place, to close these winter games, it is the Republic of Korea which completes the podium with 20 medals (8 Gold, 6 Silver and 6 Bronze).
At 8 p.m., all the players in these Winter games gathered in the picturesque Piazzetta Reale in Turin. The program includes 3.5 hours of entertainment with an illusionist show by Matteo Fraziano as well as a live performance by 3 opera singers.
Solemn moment to close these 2025 Universiades: the extinction of the Games Cauldron. To celebrate this special moment, the evening continued with a set by DJ Fargetta. The sound and light show, including an impressive LED wall, made it possible to end this fantastic sporting adventure on a festive note.
