The Archers des Avens, once again, carried the Riécoise colors high, at the Finistère team championship played on Sunday, January 19, in Quimper. Two departmental titles, in bare arch and mixed doubles, were won.
Auspicious results ahead of individual championships
The performances were achieved by the arc nu team (Maryannick Riou, Patrick Carrer and Gilles Guiriec), easy winner (6 to 0) of the final, against Guilers and by the mixed doubles (Maryannick Riou and Patrick Carrer) who won won against Landerneau. Mathieu Stervinou, elected official from Quimper, former archer of the Riecois club, dear to the heart of Jean-Louis, his father, domiciled in Riec and creator of the structure he chaired for many years, was the first to come to greet the performance of the Riécois. “These results bode well, before the individual Finistère championships which will take place next weekend in Plogastel Saint-Germain. We will be represented by fifteen archers (young people and adults),” explained Gilles Guiriec, president of the Archers des Avens.
