This is the latest gadget from the Paris municipal police. During the inauguration of its new training center in Paris last May, Nicolas Nordman, deputy mayor in charge of Security, affirmed that agents would be provided with tools to improve their daily working conditions.
6,000 reports drawn up in four months
Since last October, municipal agents have benefited from twin radars, devices that allow them to measure vehicle speed and perform more checks.

For the moment, the municipal police only have ten of these “cinemometers”. But according to the figures communicated, they are devilishly effective, since 6,000 reports have been drawn up since October. In December, 345 people were fined for “excessive speed” using these twin radars. During the year 2025, the number of “cinemometers” should be tripled.
For Paris town hall, these tools should make it possible to combat speeding, while Anne Hidalgo and her teams have made reducing speed a priority. Speed on the ring road is now limited to 50 km/h compared to 70 previously.
