The English brand which is favored by a certain 007 not afraid of superlatives. Aston Martin launches a supercar worthy of an F1 whose ambition is to compete with the big stars of the segment, Ferrari in the lead. The news English berlinettewhich embeds technology plug-in hybridalso inaugurates a new architecture with a rear central engine and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Twin-turbo V8 and electric motors
These choices allowed English engineers to install firepower quite impressive under the hood of Valhalla. With a stable of 1079 horsepowerthe Aston Martin manages to be on par with the gods of the road since the Berlinette displays 49 hp more than the segment benchmark, the Ferrari FXX Stradale released last winter… This power is delivered here by a very roaring new engine, a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 of 828 hp at 7000 rpm, supported by three electric motors accumulating 251 hp.
From 0 to 100 km.h in 2.5 seconds
To master this beast, Aston Martin has also worked a lot on aerodynamic downforce which reaches 600 kilos from 240 km/h, thus ensuring an essential great stability at high speed. This supercar takes full advantage of Formula 1 expertise, including the thermal management of its components. This assurance is necessary when you know that the car swallows the 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds !
“The body-built design of this Aston Martin inspired by F1 impresses, with this enormous grille at the front which seems ready to devour the asphalt
Machine, how can we not mention this other innovation: the rear wing of Valhalla straightens out when braking to ensure record stopping distances, aided by carbon-ceramic brake discs. Side electrical performanceValhalla is not ridiculous for a supercar. Its architecture, organized around a high-performance 6KWh battery, allows it to ensure an electric range of 14 km and peak speeds of up to 140 km/h in electric mode. Quite sufficient to move silently in an urban environment, unless you choose the option of showing off at a red light…
-Powerful but “light”
Which is already visually assured anyway, as long as bodybuilder drawing of this Aston Martin inspired by F1 impresses, with this huge grille at the front which seems ready to devour the asphalt. The Valhalla can afford to do better than the Ferrari because the engineers also took care not to offer a supercar that was too heavy. The Aston Martin “only” weighs 1655 kgwhich makes it possible to better exploit the full potential of the precious mechanism.
Digital and management
In this mission, the pilot will be helped by a sober and stripped-down dashboard (almost entirely in carbon) which opts for the centralisation of all controls, easily accessible on the central touch screen. THE double flat steering wheel also refers to the world of F1, and we must also highlight the presence of the HMI (Human Machine Interface) system which offers a centralized display of essential information.
From €700,000?
In short: this Aston Martin supercar should satisfy the few 999 privileged who, around the world, will be able to acquire this machine at a price not yet announced by the brand. However, we are talking about a base price of 700 000 €…to which it will be necessary to add a nice penalty undoubtedly, although softened by the presence of hybridization. With the Valhalla, the British manufacturer intends to assert itself as a player in luxury hybrid mobility capable, by drawing on his experience in F1, of preserving his sporting DNA.
