Romain Grosjean will be Prema’s reserve in IndyCar in 2025

Romain Grosjean will have to settle for a place as reserve driver in IndyCar this year. After a season with Juncos Hollinger Racing, the desire to continue existed on both sides but the need for budget pushed the team to turn to Sting Ray Robb alongside Conor Daly. Once mentioned, a return to Dale Coyne Racing was also not possible.

The Franco-Swiss was finally announced as a reserve at Prema, who is entering the championship this year. The Italian team, present in numerous promotion formats in Europe, made the announcement during the presentation of its season, in the presence of its starters Robert Shwartzman and Callum Ilott.

Romain Grosjean’s 2025 season could therefore mainly involve Endurance. Last year, he drove the SC63 in the IMSA long races as well as at the 24 Hours of . The manufacturer has decided to leave the WEC, which required it to go from one to two prototypes, and its participation in Le Mans remains uncertain since it will have to go through an invitation.

Lamborghini, on the other hand, has announced part of its plans in IMSA. Grosjean is already confirmed for the 24 Hours of Daytona, alongside Mirko Bortolotti, Daniil Kvyat and Edoardo Mortara. Lamborghini will then draw from these drivers for the other races of the season, the precise composition of the crew being defined event after event.
