Sainz reveals his best moments at Ferrari

After four seasons, 88 Grands Prix, 24,526 kilometers covered and four victories, Carlos Sainz is officially no longer a Ferrari driver. In this new year 2025, the Iberian joins Williams to make way for Lewis Hamilton. Alex Albon's new teammate recalled some of the best memories from his years in red, including his victories with the Italian team: “Four very different, but very moving victories. »

Sainz looked back on each of his victories starting with his very first at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2022 “because the first one is always unforgettable. » He won against Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton after a turbulent race. Between the impressive clash between Guanyu Zhou and George Russell, which saw the Chinese car end up in the fences and led to Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon as well as Yuki Tsunoda, the irruption of radical environmental activists “Just Stop the Oil” on the track (during the red flag) or the Ferrari team strategies which greatly displeased Charles Leclerc, the number 55 achieved its first success in Formula 1 after 150 Grand Prix contested.

Victories always strong in emotion

Winner a second time in 2023, Sainz declared that “That year it was really special to win in Singapore, especially in this way. » The season was marked by the domination of Red Bull, who had remained undefeated until this victory. Finally, the thirty-year-old spoke of the special nature of these two victories in 2024, for his last season alongside Charles Leclerc: “Australia, because I was coming back from a difficult winter and appendicitis. I won suddenly and it was emotional. he pointed out. And then Mexico, because at the time it was maybe my last victory and my mother was there, all my family, my friends were there to see me win and it was really special. »

For the Madrilenian, it’s impossible not to cite his first time in a Ferrari single-seater among his best memories: “A moment I will never forget was coming out of the pits at Fiorano for my first laps in a Ferrari. I think it’s something that will stay with me forever. » While sharing his best moments within the Scuderia, Sainz still admitted that this last season had been « dure » et « stressful » despite good management on his part: “I am very proud of the way I handled each situation throughout the year and of having managed to surpass myself to arrive at the end of the year in good shape, ready to fight for [le championnat Constructeurs]. » These beautiful memories with Ferrari, Carlos Sainz is right to cherish them: with Williams, it will certainly be a different story… but obviously, we wish him as much success – if not more – at Grove as at Maranello.
