Red Bull jokes about the future of a driver's future child

At Red Bull, humor is there. Helmut Marko, emblematic advisor of the team, had fun joking about the future of the future child of Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet. Interviewed by the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung, he spoke lightly about the genetic potential of the unborn baby. “It's a bit crazy, but if the grandfather is a three-time world champion and the father is a four-time world champion…”the Red Bull advisor joked about the possibility of recruiting the upcoming child. “There must be some potential in the genes”joked Helmut Markon in comments reported by RMC Sport. “We still don’t know if it will be a boy or a girl, which ultimately doesn’t matter because female drivers are just as popular.”

A promising heredity

Crowned world champion at the end of November after his fifth place in Vegas, Max Verstappen revealed at the beginning of December the upcoming birth of his first child with his partner Kelly Piquet, 35 years old. “A mini Verstappen-Piquet is on the way. We couldn't be happier with our little miracle,” the couple wrote on Instagram, two days before the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi. The Brazilian model already has a daughter born from her previous relationship with the Russian Daniil Kyvat. In 2025, Max Verstappen will play alongside Liam Lawson within the Austrian team. The young 22-year-old New Zealander becomes the new teammate of the 27-year-old driver after the departure of Sergio Perez, who was nevertheless under contract until next year after his extension last June.
