The drivers who marked the “Driver of the Day” in 2024

This 2024 season, nine drivers were named driver of the day. They represent six stables.

Last season with Ferrari, Carlos Sainz scored a podium for Ferrari in the first race behind the Red Bull drivers. He wasted no time in showing the Scuderia and other teams that he still has the level.

Ferrari reserve driver, Oliver Bearman, a young 18-year-old driver entered in FIA F2, was called up on Saturday morning to replace Carlos Sainz, who was ill. He impressed from qualifying, almost reaching Q3. He scored six points in his first race in Formula 1.

Back on track after his operation, Carlos Sainz overtakes Max Verstappen in the first laps. He takes Ferrari to its first victory of the season and signs the double with his teammate Charles Leclerc.

Charles Leclerc had an impeccable race at Suzuka. He finished in fourth position after starting eighth. Only the difference in strategy with his teammate prevents him from getting on the podium.

Lando Norris' good pace allowed him to get on the podium in second position, between the Red Bulls, despite the safety cars and the virtual safety car.

Lando Norris wins a Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time in his career. An error by the safety car when exiting in front of Max Verstappen, then second, gave him a free stop.

The very recent Grand Prix winner put pressure on Max Verstappen until the last corner to gain first place. He failed just seven tenths of a second from victory.

It's the race that every driver dreams of winning. Even more so when this driver is himself Monegasque. After so many attempts, Charles Leclerc finally won his home Grand Prix by perfectly controlling the race.

A new second place for the Briton. Lots of changing weather conditions didn't make the race easy. Although he overtook George Russell and Max Verstappen on intermediate tires, it was the Dutchman who took the checkered flag first with a four-second lead.

Once again, Lando Norris was the only driver to fight with Max Verstappen in the race. He finished just over two seconds behind and set the fastest lap of the race.

He didn't finish the race, but his battle for first place with Max Verstappen marked the season. The fight ended in a clash beyond the limits, providing fans with entertainment.

He had not won since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton won his home race for the ninth time in his career. His speed and experience in changing conditions kept Max Verstappen and Lando Norris away from victory.

From the start, Oscar Piastri took the advantage over his teammate. He thus won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix for his second season in the category. He secures a double with Lando Norris for McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton got off to a good start at Spa-Francorchamps. He takes the lead of the race on the third lap. He is caught later by his teammate who is on another strategy. He crossed the line in second position. The disqualification of his teammate gives him the victory.

Although he lost the lead at the start, he maintained control of the Grand Prix and won the second race of his career. He inflicted his first home defeat on Max Verstappen.

Charles Leclerc wins the Italian Grand Prix for the second time as a Ferrari driver. After winning his home race earlier in the season, he added a home victory for his team to his season thanks to a profitable strategy.

Oscar Piastri took the lead of the race at mid-race by overtaking Charles Leclerc then resisted the pressure from the Ferrari driver at the end of the Grand Prix. His performance gave him the second victory of his career.

With rumors circulating in the paddock and the world of Formula 1 that this Grand Prix would be his last, fans wanted to show Visa Cash App RB that the Australian remains the fan favorite. He ended his career in Formula 1 by setting the fastest lap in the race.

Charles Leclerc, from his fourth place on the starting grid, took the lead of the race from the first corner. He won the Grand Prix and achieved a new double for Ferrari with Carlos Sainz.

After taking Pole Position for the first time this season, he had a faultless race. He won his second Grand Prix of the season.

The Sao Paulo Grand Prix was marked by bad weather which made life difficult for the drivers. Seventeenth on the grid at the start, he won the Grand Prix with a twenty-second lead after ten races without a victory.

Tenth on the grid at the start after complicated qualifying, the Briton finished the race in second position behind his teammate. He won his fifth podium of the season.

Qualified twelfth, Zhou Guanyu finished the race eighth. He scores his first points of the season. He also took Sauber's first Stake points for his penultimate Grand Prix for the team.

Nineteenth on the grid after a penalty following a battery change on his car, Charles Leclerc finished the race on the podium, in third position. His incredible comeback, however, was not enough for Ferrari to overtake McLaren for the constructors' world championship title.

For the second consecutive season, Lando Norris was voted driver of the day the most times, with seven appearances. World Constructor Champion, McLaren is the team that has been nominated the most, tied with their runner-up, Ferrari, with a total of nine appearances out of the twenty-four races.
