Arsenal reassures themselves in the Premier League and regains the podium. The Gunners dominated Crystal Palace (1-5) this Saturday in a London derby on the 17th day of the Premier League. After two matches without a victory in the league, Mikel Arteta's men reacted against the Eagles who fought more than the score suggests. Gabriel Jesus scored twice and was involved in two other goals for his team. The only downside is that Bukayo Saka left early due to injury.

Jesus resurrected
In three days, Arsenal will have beaten Crystal Palace twice after Wednesday's success in the League Cup (3-2). This time, Arteta had brought in the heavy artillery… but left Gabriel Jesus starting. The Brazilian, who scored a hat-trick on Wednesday, rose definitively from his ashes with a double this Saturday. Jesus did not wait long to open the scoring, with a flat foot to conclude a superb cross from Bukayo Saka (0-1, 6th). The latter left his partners a few minutes later, suffered muscle injuries and returned directly to the locker room.
Jesus had good legs to find the top corner with a clear, uncontrolled shot (1-2, 15th) while Ismaila Sarr had allowed the Eagles to come back (1-1, 11th). Involved in the goal of Kai Havertz who had flair in front of the cage (1-3, 38th) and that of Gabriel Martinelli (1-4, 60th), Jesus walked on water. And symbolized the incredible efficiency of the Gunners, authors of 5 goals (Declan Rice knocked out the opponents with a cross shot in the 84th minute) from 6 shots on target.
However, until the hour mark, the domination was not obvious. Crystal Palace would have deserved a lighter score, as the Southerners from London delivered a performance full of energy and intensity in the pressing. Oliver Glasner's men, who had several strong moments, failed to pay off. The fault in particular is David Raya who disgusted Jean-Philippe Mateta (10th), Ismaila Sarr (46th) and both at the same time with a brilliant double save (53rd). Better for several weeks, the Eagles (15th) suffered again against a “big one”. Especially when the latter is motivated to finish the year well.
