TOPS/FLOPS – Find the best… and the worst of Stade Rochelais' victory on Saturday at Marcel-Deflandre against ASM (20-15), as part of the 12e Top 14 day.
TOPS
Teddy Thomas received six out of six
Another great match from the French international. The Rochelais scored his team's first try, shortly after a quarter of an hour of play (18e). Work of impressive acceleration and powerful crossing. Aligned for the sixth time this season in the center, the Maritime once again proves its ability to adapt by registering its… sixth achievement of the season. Lethal.

In pain, La Rochelle is scared but wins against Clermont
Premiere for Ultan Dillane
All with mischief and opportunism, the Irishman scored his first try in La Rochelle colors against ASM, shortly before the break (33e). The Maritime also finished the match with an impressive ratio of 15 successful tackles out of 15. Intractable. The 31-year-old crushed Jaunard.
Grégory Alldritt unstoppable
What another match from the captain of La Rochelle and the XV of France. The Maritime, as usual, was (more than) present in the combat, on the ground and in conquest. The third row made 16 races against Clermont, or 21 meters covered with balls in hand. The French international also made 15 successful tackles. A beast. Alldritt, already impressive in the Champions Cup, once again confirms that he is finding his best level as the weeks go by.
FLOPS
La Rochelle on the street in turnovers
If the Yellow and Black suffered so much against Clermont it is partly because of (many) too many lost turnovers. The Maritimes were clumsy 16 times in this sector of the game, offering countless amounts of ammunition to the Auvergnats. When we play at home and we are Stade Rochelais, it is a stain.

A flood of boxes
This meeting was greatly dominated by indiscipline. Tension was omnipresent on the ground. The referee of the match, Mr. Pierre Brousset, had to distribute no less than… six yellow cards (three on each side). In this little game, the Clermontois are the dunces of the Top 14. Christophe Urios' men have collected almost fifteen since the start of the season.
The ASM no longer succeeds in Charente-Maritime
Clearly, the Jaunards are cursed in La Rochelle. By losing on Saturday at Marcel-Deflandre, the Auvergnats suffered an eighth consecutive defeat on maritime lands. Clermont's last victory among the Yellow and Black dates back to… August 22, 2015. An eternity.
