Formula 1 | Horner admits Verstappen saved Red Bull’s 2024 season

Christian Horner admits, it was Max Verstappen who saved Red Bull’s season.

Its driver did a first-class job during the season which ended in Abu Dhabi, with a 4th world title obtained in Las Vegas.

When the Red Bull director was asked if he could thank the Dutchman for saving the furniture in 2024, he admitted: “I think he’s been absolutely outstanding this year.”

“I mean, to have accomplished what he did, nine wins, eight pole positions, four sprint race wins, and winning the championship and some highlights… Obviously the race in Brazil was, I think , one of its best All this is strong because we no longer had the best after a few races.

“And we’ve had an F1 that’s been difficult to tame this year, but he did it, and he did an absolutely stunning job. So I think of his four championships so far, for me, this one- This really stands out.”

Horner also wanted to highlight the performance of McLaren F1.

“You have to salute what McLaren did this year. They did a very, very good job. They had a good car, they had two great drivers. And they had a great year. Winning a constructors’ world championship is something very, very difficult to do.”

“You have to be impeccable throughout the year. And this year the competition was fierce. So you have to congratulate McLaren for the year they had.”

“I can’t wait to see what tattoo Zak gets for a constructors’ world championship.”
