The UTMB undertakes to cover the contribution linked to emissions relating to logistical travel, teams, volunteers and guests. The objective is to be able to compensate for Scopes 1 and 2, i.e. direct CO2 emissions (energy supply needs during the year and during the event), while starting to reduce part of Scope 3 , which includes indirect emissions (transport, logistics, volunteers, supplies). “ Ultimately, we must achieve full compensation for everything that could not be reduced. », specifies Isabelle Viseux-Poletti. For 2024, this contribution from the organization is estimated between 15,000 and 20,000 euros.
