Bernie Ecclestone explains why he is selling all his cars

“I have been collecting these cars for over 50 years and have only ever bought the best example”said Bernie Ecclestone. “While many other collectors have opted for sports cars over the years, my passion has always been for Grand Prix and Formula 1 cars.”

“A Grand Prix car, and in particular a Formula 1 car, is far more important than a road car or any other form of racing car, because it is the pinnacle of the sport, and all the cars that I have purchased over the years have a fantastic racing history and are rare works of art.”

“I love all my cars, but the time has come for me to start thinking about what will happen to them if I'm no longer here, and that's why I decided to sell them. After collecting and owning them for so long, I would like to know where they went and not leave them in my wife's care if I am no longer here.”

“Tom [Hartley Jnr] handles the sale for me because he knows the cars better than anyone, his company is best placed to sell them and I am assured of transparency, which is important to me.”

“Having collected the most beautiful and original Formula 1 cars since the beginning of the discipline, I have decided to entrust them to new owners who will treat them as I have done and consider them as precious works of art. of art.”
