Abbi Pulling Academy champion

Abbi Pulling's season was much more consistent than Dorian Pin's. However, Prema (Pin's team) is leading the championship ahead of Rodin (Pulling's team). Pulling hasn't done “worse” than a third place this season! She was impressive and when Pin won, she stayed in contact, losing as few points as possible.

As a result, when arriving in Qatar on the Losail circuit, hope was slim for Doriane Pin. However, the Frenchwoman did not give up and took pole position in race 1 before winning it ahead of the inevitable Abbi Pulling. Then the “pocket rocket” also took pole in the second race. Alas, the second race did not take place. The rail was damaged and for the Grand Prix to take place, the F1 Academy had to be canceled.

There is one more meeting next week, with two races in theory. But, with 83 points ahead of Pin, Pulling is mathematically titled. Congratulations to the 2024 champion. As for Pin, as we said, her season was a little too up and down. We will especially remember his magnificent victory in Jeddah in race 2, ruined by a faulty communication with his wall and one lap too hard which earned him a penalty and a 9th place. This would not have changed the face of the championship however.

What future for Pulling and Pin?

Pulling's season is amazing. In 11 races, she signed 7 pole positions, and therefore 7 victories but also 5 fastest laps in the race (4 for Pin). Protected by Alpine, will Abbi Pulling be able to advance in the single-seater series? Nothing is less certain. The 100% female F1 Academy uses Formula 4 cars. We could expect to see it in F3 next year. But, in parallel with the F1 Academy, Pulling races in British F4. She won a race but is only 7th in the championship, very far from the 2024 winner, Deagen Fairclough.

On Doriane Pin's side, it was the United Arab Emirates F4. A victory, a pole, but a final 10th place. In FRECA (European Regional Formula Championship by Alpine), she has never been on the pace to aim for a top 10. But Pin has also been moving towards endurance for several seasons. She will undoubtedly have more possibilities in endurance but will play her luck bravely in single-seaters as long as she finds a seat. With Pulling, we have two great drivers to evaluate further.

However, we remain a little doubtful about the overall level of the F1 Academy. In addition to Pulling and Pin, we can note the season of Maya Weug. Behind it is a little messy. The worst undoubtedly being those who made the 1st season and this year are not at the forefront like Hamda Al Qubaisi, 3rd in 2023 and only 6th for the moment or Nerea Marti, 4th, who has only signed 3 podiums compared to 5 podiums and 1 victory last year.

2nd last year, Léna Bühler spent part of the season in FRECA without shining. The 2023 champion, Marta Lopez, also moved to FRECA and is only 28th in her first season, with a 14th place as her best result.
