George Russell had a turbulent race with a botched start, a slow stop, an angry outburst over tire choice in the final stint and a penalty late in the race. The Mercedes F1 driver joked after this summary, admitting that Formula 1 is amazing sometimes.
“Anything else?” the Briton laughed. “This sport is so fun, the way things move quickly. Friday was a good day, Saturday in the Sprint we were tied for fastest, and qualified second. Today, a bad start, not pace… fourth place is surely a flattering result.”
“In qualifying, there are two tenths between the first and third row, it doesn't take much for it to go wrong. We have to analyze what happened.”
Lewis Hamilton was somewhat demoralized this Sunday evening, however admitting his responsibility for the errors made, in particular with a missed start: “We didn't have enough downforce today and the car was difficult to drive. But it's my fault today, so I apologize to the team for the false start and the incident in pit lane.”
“It's not about how you fall, it's about how you get up. I'll get up tomorrow and I'll try again next week. I'll try to wake up feeling grateful for the opportunity I have 'be healthy, and I'll try again.'
