George Russell is convinced of one thing, Max Verstappen is not unbeatable and the 2025 season could therefore have some surprises in store for us.
Last weekend in Las Vegas, Max Verstappen won a fourth consecutive world title by finishing the race in fifth place. Despite the difficulties encountered this season, the Red Bull driver still managed to win the drivers' championship, showing himself relentless against his closest rival, Lando Norris.
George Russell, Mercedes driver who scored a great victory in Las Vegas, insisted that “no one is unbeatable ”.
“You go through phases where teams and drivers dominate and people think if I'm alongside them I won't be able to compete with them. But you have to believe in yourself ”, declared the Briton.
“Personally, when I teamed up with Lewis (Hamilton), I said to myself that Lewis was the greatest driver of all time. And you know, Max is on the same level as Lewis. So, yes, I absolutely believe in myself, we could fight him on equal terms”, concluded the driver of the German firm.

Max Verstappen expects even more competition in 2025
For his part, the brand new quadruple F1 World Champion does not see himself joining a certain Juan Manuel Fangio in 2025 so easily.
After having managed to retain his crown for the fourth time in a row, the Batavian expects a “great battle ” next season.
“I'm very proud of the way everyone pulled together in those very tough races where we lost,” he said. “We have a lot of ideas for next year. There are a few things we couldn't change anymore this year, so that's something for next year. I hope this will make the car easier to drive and more competitive, because I know the others won't sit idly by.”
