The ghosts of the past always catch up with you eventually. If you don't believe it, look at what Martin Fourcade has just done to us.
Martin Fourcade, new six-time Olympic champion
Even 14 years later, Martin Fourcade continues to plunge us into darkness. Even four years after retiring, the multiple French world and Olympic champion continues his gold rush. But when the hell is this going to stop?
Indeed, the Court of Arbitration for Sport has just announced that it confirmed the suspension for doping of Russian biathlete Evgeny Ustyugov between 2010 and 2014. By removing his results over this period, and in particular his gold medal during the mass- start of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, this allowed a certain Martin Fourcade to win his sixth career Olympic title. Some traumas never fully escape, and Martin is living proof.
So of course, we know what you are going to tell us; we could get used to the idea that there is no real difference between five or six gold medals. But this would clearly be contrary to our code of conduct, our constant fight against the promotion of the French victory and our daily fight against the apology of the blue white red win. In addition, this allows the same Martin Fourcade to now have more Olympic titles than his long-time rival, Johannes Boe. And that is not admissible. Thus, the FFL reserves the right to shout into the void as it does now. Thank you for reading us.
