HIGHLIGHTS
Still dominating today against Elfyn Evans alone, Ott Tänak fulfilled his contract perfectly by scoring the maximum number of points in this first part of the rally. Tomorrow, the Estonian will have to do the same thing, while hoping that Thierry Neuville misses out by scoring less than two points. Today, the Belgian had a perfect day, moving up to 7th place, his only goal.
Behind Tänak, Elfyn Evans disappointed again today, failing to maintain a strong pace, although promising in the first special this morning. Author of a scratch today, Sébastien Ogier logically finished third. Much more comfortable today, Adrien Fourmaux retained his advantage against Takamoto Katsuta. The M-Sport team can also be satisfied with the performances of Grégoire Munster, author of two times in the top 3.
At Toyota, the situation remains difficult with virtually another 11 points behind Hyundai. A flawless performance is mandatory tomorrow while Hyundai has the means to secure big points.
In WRC2, Sami Pajari remains in an ideal position to win the championship title tomorrow at noon. The top 4 in RC2 is completed by Hiroki Arai, former Toyota hopeful, and Heikki Kovalainen, former Formula 1 driver.

S. Pajari | The day was quite nice, very regular. The car runs very well. I tried to be clean. |
J.Solans | It's been a tough day to be honest. We had a problem this morning and we struggled to find rhythm. We'll see tomorrow. |
N.Gryazin | Have a good day, we're keeping the situation under control. We got some information from others and the donut was very slippery. |
G.Munster | We are really happy, yesterday we were in difficulty but we discussed with the engineer and were able to make the right choice. Then we did the second and third beats. I hope to be able to continue tomorrow morning. There is an advantage with the road position because there is a middle part that is really dirty. I don't have a specific objective, I want to finish the rally. |
