Nico Hülkenberg finished seventh on the first day of testing in Las Vegas. The Haas F1 driver wants to find more rhythm, but the feeling is positive and he is convinced that the top 10 is achievable in the race and in qualifying.
“I felt good in the car in the first free practice session, which is invaluable at a circuit like this. We will try to be a little more efficient, but I think we can fight to be the fifth fastest team and fight for points in the race” Hulkenberg said.
Kevin Magnussen was ninth at the end of the first day, and he too is optimistic for the rest of the weekend: “It's looking good. As in the last races, we got off to a good start and the car is performing well.”
“It's a strange circuit because the surface is very slippery, you slide and you grain your tires, so the track evolves every lap and you gain seconds every time. It's difficult to be very confident because it's clear “The track can change completely, but it's a good starting point to prepare for tomorrow.”
