“Defeat is not an option”, Hamilton and Leclerc already under pressure

As 2024 draws to a close, we are already thinking about next season in . Among the highly anticipated teams, there is Ferrari, where the Leclerc – Hamilton association is causing a lot of talk. Not without some pressure.

This weekend will take place the antepenultimate Formula 1 Grand Prix of the season, in the United States, near Las Vegas. Before going to Qatar then the United Arab Emirates to finish with this 2024 edition, Max Verstappen could win a fourth consecutive title this Sunday. Despite some areas of turbulence, the Dutch driver has masterfully raised his head and is logically heading towards this new crown. As for the manufacturers, McLaren, Ferrari and… Red Bull believe in it. The Scuderia is also already thinking about 2025.

With Hamilton and Leclerc, Ferrari expected around the corner

While he will celebrate his 40th birthday at the very beginning of next year, Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari this winter. With a major objective: to become the first eight-time F1 world champion, while he currently shares the record (7) with a certain Michael Schumacher. To support him in his quest, the British driver will be able to count on Monegasque Charles Leclerc. An XXL duo which is already expected around the corner.

Interviewed by Sky Sport 24, the famous journalist and writer Leo Turrini, who closely follows the world of F1 and more particularly the Scuderia, set the scene:

With the Hamilton-Leclerc duo, defeat is not an option.

While Sergio Pérez, currently eighth in the driver standings, is going through a very complicated season, Red Bull could clearly find itself weakened next year. Enough to allow Ferrari to return to the top of the bill? As a reminder, the Scuderia has not been constructors' world champion for 16 years. Has not allowed a driver to be crowned for 17 years (Kimi Räikkönen in 2007). An eternity. Almost an anomaly. Soon to be repaired by 2025? In any case, the pressure is already there.
