Sergio Pérez finished on the podium at the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix last year, and the Red Bull driver explains why he enjoyed the circuit. He admits, however, that the race should be a challenge.
“I think last year we were very strong, we were able to come back after the incident on the first lap. I led the race and I fought with Max and Charles. It was intense and I know that it will be again, it will be a difficult race” Perez said.
Asked about Red Bull's constructors' title hopes, he admits he will need to be up to par: “I think we need a few doubles until the end of the season to get back into shape. That will be the goal for the end of the season.”
The Mexican also returned to his father's homophobic comments against Ralf Schumacher, and clearly stated that he did not agree with them: “First of all, I don't agree with any of his comments. I think he made a mistake in that regard.”
“I don't share any of his views but at the same time I don't control what my father has to say, I can only control what I say. It's important as a sport to always show that whatever “It happens on the track, it always stays on the track. That's how I see it and we should always be an example for the rest of the world.”
