Scorer against Peru, the Inter Milan striker joins the legend Maradona in the ranking of scorers for the Argentine selection.
Lautaro Martinez joined Diego Maradona on Argentina's goalscoring list in Argentina's 1-0 victory over Peru in Buenos Aires in World Cup qualifying.
Martinez, 27, volleyed with his left foot from Lionel Messi's cross in the 55th minute, scoring his 32nd international goal for his 70th appearance.
The Inter Milan captain now sits fifth alongside Argentine legend Maradona, although he remains far short of top scorer Messi's 112 goals. Gabriel Batistuta (54), Sergio Agüero (42) and Hernan Crespo (35) complete the top 5.
Messi, 37, the Inter Miami striker, is now tied with former US striker Landon Donovan for the most assists for the national team, with 58.
