The world crown could be decided this weekendin the capital of Nevada, where Red Bull driver Max Verstappen could be crowned world champion for the fourth time after his superb victory in Brazil. He could equal the record of Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost for the number of titles.
The constructors' championship is still undecided even if McLaren is still in the lead with 593 points, ahead of Ferrari (557 points) and Red Bull (544 points).
Like every year the teams pull out all the stopslike the special liveries of Alpine, Sauber and Williams. No detail should be overlooked, like the new Ferrari suits for the weekend. The American show should still be there.
A high-speed urban route
Between the two previous editions (1981 and 1982) and that of 2023, it's literally day and night. The track designed in the Caesars Palace parking lot, which gave its name to the GP, gave way to a real route using the Strip, the avenue, the biggest hotels and all the bling-bling that surrounds the Grand Prix of Las Vegas.
Among the particularities, a race on Saturday evening, local time, and cool temperatures unusual for F1. As a reminder, the 2023 edition was disrupted by the removal of a manhole cover.
The race lap record is held by Oscar Piastri in 1.35.490. The last winning driver was Max Verstappen in 2023accompanied on the podium by Charles Leclerc, in second position, and Sergio Perez, third.
It's a special city track, with fast passages where last year there was a straight line record at 366 km/h. In total, there are 50 laps, for a distance of 309,958 km, in the streets of the “city of sin”.
