Leclerc and Sainz test it at Fiorano! (video)

As Scuderia drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had the privilege of testing the new Ferrari F80 at the Fiorano Circuit. Discover their video test.

New hypercar of all the superlatives born from the Maranello workshops, the Ferrari F80 was taken in hand by the drivers-holders of the Scuderia and Formula 1, Charles Leclerc et Carlos Sainzthe time of an outing Fiorano.

Ferrari F80: what do Leclerc and Sainz think?

A new car, it’s celebrated. Especially when your name is Ferrari. But when another premium brand like Bugatti goes chasing speed records, the Italian manufacturer enjoys another weighty marketing tool : the competition. What could be more natural than asking Scuderia piles of test the latest has Fiorano ?
Between two races, Charles Leclerc et Carlos SaiThey therefore had in their expert hands a prototype of the future hypercar, also seen on the track at Imola. Necessarily camouflagedso as not to arouse the suspicions of possible “spotters” swarming around the circuit and in the surrounding area from the factory before the presentation of the machine.
With a smile on their lips, both the Monegasque and the Spaniard take a clever pleasure of climbing the towers behind the wheel of the F80, both impressed by the quantity of horsepower contained in its ultra-powerful V6 engine, but also of its maneuverability between steering wheel flexibility and trajectory precision.
As you can see in the video belowLeclerc even goes so far as to declare that it is a question of the best balanced Ferrari he had in his hands. When you know your love for beautiful mechanics and, above all, its impressive garage, it's the kind of compliment that should please the factory.
Knowing also that it is a above all marketing exerciseadmit that it would have been annoying to hear the opposite from the winner of the recent United States Grand Prix!

Ferrari F80: 1200 horsepower under the hood!

Like the 288 GTO and the F40 moved by a V8 turbo from F1 in the 1980s, the F80 inherits a block machined for competitionthe V6 turbo hybrid animating the Hypercars 499P on the slopes of WEC et du Mans.
The powertrain, a three-liter 120° F163CF V6, alone delivers a already insane power of 900 horsepowermaking it the Ferrari engine producing the highest specific cavalry of all time (300 ch/l).
For the first time on a Ferrari, the block is completed by the technology'e-turbo. Thanks to an electric motor installed between the turbine and the compressor of each turbo, this system makes it possible to obtain specific power and instant response at low revs.
These electric motors used for the F80 – two on the front axle and one on the rear (and fashion MGU-K, another legacy of F1) – are the first developed, tested and manufactured entirely by Ferrari.
They allow you to extract 300 ch in addition for a total cavalry increased to 1200 equines, either lthe most powerful engine architecture in the history of Maranello ! Coupled with a F1 dual-clutch 8-speed gearbox, this block takes the F80 from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.15 secondsfrom 0 to 200 km/h in 5.75 s, for a speed maximum 350 km/h.
